| Project Description:
The recently completed SouthShore Regional Services Center was created
as a localized service provider for citizens of the southeastern part
of the County. This 20,000 square-foot facility houses Water Resource
Services, Code Enforcement, Building Services, the South Shore Community
Justice Center, a bilingual Citizen Action Center representative as well
as a branch location of the Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
The facility is also next to a HART Line Transit hub making this a very
busy site in a rapidly growing community.

| Artwork Goals The selected artwork will
enhance the user’s experience of the facility. Suggested themes
for art may include the rural history of the area, the local habitat,
or celebrating the various County government functions provided in the
facility.

| Opportunities for Public Art
Several areas exist both inside and outside the facility to create public
art. Opportunities for art include, but are not limited to the following:
Entrance Lobby
All facility patrons enter the facility through this lobby where signage
and a receptionist will direct them to the appropriate office. This
heavily trafficked area has large windows and lots of light.
Exterior Wall along Driveway
The large softly curved wall along the driveway is prominently situated
at the main entrance.
Pond
The large retention pond at the front corner of the property is currently
the most visible feature on the site.
Conference Room
This conference room will be used by many local groups and will include
a live video hook-up for real time interaction at Board of County Commissioners
meetings held downtown.
