Tony Morejon began his service with Hillsborough County in 1983 as a social worker and then as a Records Manager and
Property Manager. In 1994, he became the County's Hispanic Affairs Liaison.
Morejon is of Cuban descent, born in New York, and raised in Tampa. He attended public schools and
received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His career has been complemented with
honors such as being named Tampa Hispanic Heritage's
Hispanic Man of the Year for Public Services in 2001 and 2004.
In 1995, he was named Hillsborough County Hispanic Man of the Year. In 1997 he was
named Univision's Exito de lo Nuestro, a prestigious award given by one
of the area's major Spanish television stations. He has contributed his service to
the Latino Coalition, Hispanic Business Initiative Fund, League of Latin
American Citizens and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed
Officials. |
