The Prosperity Campaign of Hillsborough County is a highly successful program that brings millions
of dollars back to families and into the local economy! Hillsborough
County Government is a key partner and funder of the campaign, and the
Department of Health & Social Services is responsible for coordinating
the campaign in Hillsborough County.
The Prosperity Campaign was established in 2004 through a collaboration
of public, private, and nonprofit organizations to help families:
- Learn, understand and claim Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax
Credit, and other credits.
- Access free, conveniently located quality tax preparation and
electronic filing services.
- Increase their financial stability by connecting them to financial
education opportunities.
Residents can have their federal income tax return prepared
at no cost at any of 27 sites located throughout the county. IRS-certified
preparers and trained volunteers at these sites will help residents
complete the paperwork and electronically file their tax returns. Residents
will be assisted as well in applying for the Earned Income Tax Credit,
Child Tax Credit, and other tax credits for which they are eligible.
