Child Care Facility

A child care facility is any child care center or child care arrangement for more than five (5) children unrelated to the operator, which receives a payment, fee, grant or bartering arrangement for any of the children receiving care, wherever operated and whether or not operated for a profit. The number of children is limited by Hillsborough County Ordinance Rules & Regulations #03-25, as amended by Ordinance 04-25.

Child Care is the care, protection, and supervision of a child for a period of less than twenty-four (24) hours a day on a regular basis which supplements parental care for the child's individual needs, daily care, enrichment opportunities and health supervision and where a payment, fee, grant or bartering arrangement is made of care.

The Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing Office provides licensing information and technical assistance to all child care facilities in Hillsborough County, including the municipalities of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City.
