The Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Department (AHD) announces the availability of funds for affordable housing and community development activities. Qualified non-profit and for-profit enterprises are asked to submit their projects based on the criteria contained the following Requests for Proposals (RFPs): |

- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - AHD is accepting proposals from for-profit and non-profit organizations for the provision of CDBG-eligible activities, other than public services, including, but not limited to, acquisition of real property, public facilities and improvements, removal of architectural barriers, housing rehabilitation, site development costs of new housing construction, historic preservation, and economic development activities. For questions, please contact Maureen Calderaro at CalderaroM@HillsboroughCounty.org. A MANDATORY RFP Workshop will be held at the Affordable Housing Department at 2:00 p.m. on January 12, 2009. - Affordable Housing Development - Proposals will be accepted from eligible non-profit organizations for single family housing construction (land acquisition, infrastructure development, and construction costs) and housing for homeless and special needs populations (including land acquisition and/or construction / rehabilitation of emergency shelters, transitional housing and permanent housing). - In-fill Housing Program - AHD is accepting proposals from eligible non-profits for the In-fill Housing Program. Through this program, AHD shall transfer certain County-owned vacant lots to eligible non-profit organizations, via a loan, for the development of housing. The housing developed on these parcels will either be made available for sale to the general public or for occupation by “Special Needs” populations under the ownership of the non-profit organization. - Multi-family Rental Housing – Proposals will be accepted for the development of affordable multi-family rental housing. This will serve developers who are ready to proceed with construction (approximately $1.5 million in FY09 funds) as well as those who are seeking to participate in the State of Florida Universal Application Cycle for bond financing/tax credits and local bond financing programs (approximately $790,000 in FY10 funds).
